Akhand Jyot Diya
Glass-chimney brass oil lamp designed to burn unbroken through Navratri, Diwali, or any sankalpa — the unflickering flame.
Akhand jyot — the unbroken flame — is the highest commitment a household can make. Lit at the start of a sankalpa (Navratri, Diwali, a 9-day Ramayan path, a wedding fast) and kept burning continuously until the puja concludes, sometimes for nine days straight.
Our Akhand Jyot is engineered for exactly this purpose. The brass oil reservoir holds enough ghee or til oil for ~12 hours of continuous burn, and the tall heat-resistant glass chimney protects the flame from drafts, fans, and curious children. Decorative engravings on the brass body, footed base for stability.
How to use: Fill the brass cup ⅔ with pure cow ghee (recommended) or til oil. Use a long cotton diya wick. Light at the start of your sankalpa, refill every 10-12 hours without extinguishing — slide a fresh wick alongside the old one.
The Kripa promise: Solid brass body, borosilicate glass chimney (will not crack from heat), hand-engraved.
